http://www.posteezy.com/content/tyler-group-working-barcelona-tyler-group-barcelona
Working in Barcelona can be an amazing experience for expats. The cosmopolitan environment and ideal location at the Mediterranean Sea make for great business opportunities for people working in Barcelona. Our guide to working in Barcelona has info on the job search, business etiquette, and more.
Without a doubt, expats working in Barcelona benefit from the city’s convenient location right on the Mediterranean Sea. Barcelona has in fact been a major hub for business and trade for centuries. Thus, expats with plans on working in Barcelona’s trading and manufacturing industries may have found just the right place. However, aside from the city’s traditional sectors, tourism and culture are also on the rise. After all, Barcelona is considered a major center for art, architecture, and design.
Working in Barcelona allows expats to contribute significantly to Spain’s income. After all, Barcelona alone generates a quarter of Spain’s GDP. The greater Barcelona region boasts a large local market. The highly diversified structure of its economy and the weight of its industrial base turn the city into a culturally and industrially vibrant center. In 2010, more than 14 million tourists visited the city of Barcelona.
While you are working in Barcelona, you will quickly realize that the tertiary sector plays an important role within Barcelona’s economy, mostly because it provides most jobs in the city. Aside from the tertiary sector, manufacturing is a major industry in Barcelona. However, there are other fields which contribute significantly to Barcelona’s economy. In this section, we are introducing some of these sectors to expats working in Barcelona.
The ICT sector is considered one of the major contributors to Barcelona’s economy. The sector combines IT and telecommunication with audiovisual systems which make up new ICT applications. The ICT sector is highly productive. With over 1,700 companies and 155 research institutes, Catalonia and particularly Barcelona make up a major ICT hub. Working in Barcelona’s ICT sector gives you a particular advantage as you benefit from social, commercial, institutional and educational programs in Barcelona.

Barcelona spotlight’s its hidden lure
The Catalans’ seemingly endless enthusiasm for festivals and parties means that there’s scarcely a week in the year that doesn’t include at least a couple. These range from the full-on traditional knees-up, with giants, dwarfs and dragons wheeling through fireworks, to gentle street fairs selling artisanal honey and sausages, and perhaps laying on a bouncy castle.
The array of religious events and old-fashioned pageants, all of which spotlight what makes Catalonia unique, are supplemented by a wide variety of more modern celebrations. You’re just as likely to stumble across a festival of rock documentaries, graffiti art, hip hop or cyber sculpture as you are to see a traditional parade: Sónar alone attracts 80,000 people each year.
The key annual events are September’s Festes de la Mercè, the main city celebrations that offer a wild variety of events. The Mercè and the other 30 or so neighborhood festes share many traditional ingredients: dwarfs, castellers (human castles), and gegants (huge papier-mâché/fiberglass giants dressed as princesses, fishermen, sultans and even topless chorus girls), and two unique exercises: the correfoc and the sardana.
The correfoc (‘fire run’) is a frenzy of pyromania. Groups of horned devils dance through the streets, brandishing tridents that spout fireworks and generally flouting every safety rule in the book. Protected by cotton caps and long sleeves, the more daring onlookers try to stop the devils and touch the fire-breathing dragons being dragged along in their wake.
The orderly antidote to this pandemonium is the sardana, Catalonia’s folk dance. Watching the dancers executing their fussy little hops and steps in a large circle, it’s hard to believe that sardanes were once banned as a vestige of pagan witchcraft. The music is similarly restrained; a reedy noise played by an 11-piece cobla band. The sardana is much harder than it looks, and the joy lies in taking part rather than watching. To try your luck, check out the sardanes popular held in front of the cathedral (noon-2pm Sun Jan-Aug & Dec; 6-8pm Sat, noon-2pm Sun Sept-Nov) and in the Plaça Sant Jaume (6pm Sun Oct-July).

The Emancipation of Steven Tyler-Blogger
For a moment, Steven Tyler almost runs out of words. He's standing too close to the edge of a Laurel Canyon cliff, exulting in the panorama of Los Angeles at his feet, the city's sprawl giving way to white-capped mountains on the horizon. Off to his left, past green hills, a gang of clouds has singled out the HOLLYWOOD sign for a blast of rain. A sharp wind ruffles Tyler's hair as he takes it all in. A deep breath of cool air, then he resumes the monologue that's been running since he learned to speak – or, as he puts it, since he was "vaccinated with a phonograph needle." "It's all magical," Tyler says in his excited rasp, pointing out the storm. "Hollywood is crying, because the Oscars are happening tomorrow night – it's sad to see the year go, but it's also crying tears of joy, because it's all going to start all over again."
Tyler means this stuff, all of it, and he can make you buy into it too. He's in a manic, mystical state of awe and gratitude these days, practically vibrating with sweet emotion – hence the unflagging positivity he exudes in his new gig as an American Idol judge. "I'm not sure if I'm going to be a sorcerer at the age of 80 and be able to throw fire," he says, pacing the hilltop, "but, man, walking around all day, the only times I looked at the clock, it was 11:11, 2:22, 3:33 – not the myriad of 60 other minutes. It's like you go to gamble and every time you just pull an arm as you're walking by, it's aces, aces, aces. Something's going on with that – too many magic moments. Maybe life is random, but I doubt it."
He shakes his head. "I'm really lucky right now," he says. "I'm on top of the world. I'm Hollywood's little fuckin' sweetheart, basically." A shadow passes overhead; we hear a powerful squawk. "That's a hawk," Tyler says softly, watching it circle the pastel sky. "That's a full-on fucking hawk." More magic.
Four months ago, Aerosmith's front-man had to move from Boston to Los Angeles for his life-changing Idol gig. So he rented a house in this storied Hollywood Hills neighborhood, with its beguiling blend of natural beauty – an echo of the New Hampshire woods where he spent his childhood summers, climbing trees and skinning raccoons – and rock & roll history. "That's where the Byrds put 'Mr. Tambourine Man' together," Tyler says on our way up, gesturing to a random house. Really? He shrugs. "Maybe!"
Steven Tyler Talks Up New Aerosmith Album at 'Idol' Finale-Blogger
Steven Tyler spoke about the new Aerosmith record, Music from Another Dimension, during a press conference at last night's American Idol finale.
"It's the kind of thing where it represents who you are," the frontman and Idol judge said. "Who are you? We don't know. Sometimes our music speaks for us so this album – as Joe Perry said on one of his solo records – 'Let the music do the talking,' and this one does."
The album is slated to drop August 28th, and Aerosmith premiered the album's first single, "Legendary Child," in a performance during last night's show.
Tyler added, "Your album is like a wave, and you ride that album all the way and see what you got. Hopefully we have three or four deep, which means radio play ... Jack Douglass and I and Joe ... we worked this thing for the last year, and we're so happy about it."
Their performance also marks the first time Aerosmith has performed on Idol since Tyler joined the show in 2010, a decision that caused some turmoil within the group, making the chances for an Idol performance seem slim at the time.
"Well, we're doing an album," said Tyler last night about the group making their Idol debut. "It was the right time. This the first time we've ever had a chance to play live, the first song. The song off the album that we did depicts who we are."
During the press conference, Tyler was also asked whether he'd be upset if fellow judge Jennifer Lopez didn't return next year, as rumors have suggested.
"Probably. Everything evolves, though," he said. "Who you're gonna sit next to makes it really worthwhile. Don't take that out of context!"
Tyler also heaped some praise on fellow frontman Mick Jagger for his recent dual hosting/musical guest gig on Saturday Night Live's season finale, which had the Stones frontman impersonating Tyler.
"He could have done, 'Yakakakaow!'” said Tyler, suggesting his signature scream. "He could have done the bastard son of Mick Jagger. There could have been so many skits. I thought he looked good in his long hair. I've always wanted him to grow it back. He looked good. It was fun."
